Zoe Laskari


Nikos Kazantzakis was a Greek writer, celebrated for his novels which include Zorba the Greek (published 1946 as Life and Times of Alexis Zorbas), Christ Recrucified (1948), Captain Michalis (1950, translated ‘Freedom or Death), and The Last Temptation of Christ (1955). He also wrote plays, travel books, memoirs and philosophical essays such as The Saviors of God: Spiritual Exercises.

Zoe Laskari (Ζωή Λάσκαρη), a Greek film and stage actress.
In 1959, she won the title of Star Hellas (Miss Greece) and went on to represent Greece at the Miss Universe pageant in Long Beach, California where she made it to the semifinals.
One of the brightest stars in Greece 
Laskari died on 18 August 2017.
